Dedicated to Animal Rescue

Ralphie's Place is dedicated to rescuing abandoned, neglected and stray companion animals whose lives are in jeopardy. Education is a crucial element for the no-kill movement to progress and Ralphie's place will play a key role in humane education and pet guardianship responsibility. Collaboration will be necessary for success of lowering the pet overpopulation problem, so Ralphie's Place will draw on our large network of established resources and build new networks with local schools, churches/synagogues, other non-profit organizations (for both humans and animals), and municipal animal control facilities in order to collectively bring the euthanasia rate down first in Lake County, then in the state of Illinois and ultimately the country.

The founders of Ralphie's Place collectively have well over 30 years experience with the following:

• Emergency Services and Disaster Response for both humans and animals (CERT, firefighter, EMT, front lines of Katrina)

• Operations and business management of all aspects of a no-kill animal shelter

• Board of Directors leadership for 501c3 organizations

• Educational leadership (certified teacher, director of volunteers at non-profit, running adoptions and volunteer training)

• Human resource management

• Licensed Illinois humane investigators

• Networking with local, national and international rescue organizations

• Fundraising through mass mailings, events, and social media

• Hands-on volunteer work at non-profit animal shelter
